Andrew Sa steps confidently into the spotlight with his debut album American Rough, out on June 26 via Bloodshot Records. After growing up in the Bay learning to sing along to classic country hits, Sa eventually moved to Chicago to further his songwriting education through a class at the Old Town School of Folk Music, and went on to meet the collaborators that shaped his musical career in Chicago for the years to come: Liam Kazar and Sully Davis. It was Davis who first invited Sa to open for the legendary queer country band Lavender Country at The Hideout and also tapped him for the brilliantly campy music revue Cosmic Country Showcase, started by Davis and Dorian Gehring in 2018. It was largely through Cosmic Country that Sa became a sought-after voice in Chicago’s independent music scene, enveloping audiences with his signature, siren-like croon and delectable charm. Sa’s ever-evolving relationships with his collaborators, the city of Chicago, and his own songwritership paved the way for this impressive debut. Produced by North Carolina-based H.C. McEntire, American Rough is an intimate, aching, sweet-toned showcase of country-colored indie-folk songs that serve as a cinematic portal into Sa’s relationships with men, the city, and his own pulsing heart. Across its 10 sparkling tracks, we find Sa navigating the complicated dance of masculinity as it’s brought to its most tenuous limits. Sa’s evocative poetry and hypnotic, sultry, lilt captivate and charm, held together throughout by McEntire’s pristine and resplendent musical production recalling Roy Orbison, Randy Newman, Waylon Jennings, and the Everly Brothers. In the world of American Rough, men hold each other close and sway along to the radio. Rugged voices coo, sunlight filters through half-opened windows, hard bodies find each other in the dark and soften, dreams linger, springs bloom taunts. By album closer “Fightin to be Fightin”, we feel the complicated weight of masculinity’s sour burden, but still trust in Sa’s vision of a gentler kind of manhood.

Johanna’s music incorporates traditional influences from Appalachian old-time, bluegrass, classic country, blues, and the American folk revival. Join us on our patio for an incredible evening featuring a live performance by Dale Watson, a living legend of American roots music. With Texas-sized defiance and drive, he's spent four decades flying the flag for his own brand of honky-tonk, outlaw country, western swing, and rockabilly. That signature sound has a name — "Ameripolitan" — and its originator is Watson himself: a singer, songwriter, guitarist, producer, actor, cultural architect, and rule-breaking traditionalist for the modern world, championing the traditions that fly in the face of the homogenous mainstream.

More than 30 albums stand between Watson's teenage years in Texas, where he cut his teeth on Houston's honky-tonk circuit, and his latest release, 2026's Unwanted. That body of work hasn't just brought him an international audience stretching from East Texas to Europe with TV appearances on major national platforms like PBS’s Austin City Limits, Jimmy Kimmel Live!, and The Late Show with David Letterman; it's also cemented his reputation as a musical maverick who's worthy of sharing the same stage as his heroes, with shows alongside Merle Haggard, Johnny Cash, Willie Nelson, and Kris Kristofferson.

With Unwanted, he fires another double-barreled shotgun blast of country twang and honky-tonk bang. It's a raw, rowdy record, recorded in Austin and Memphis — two cities that have always lived large in Watson's history — and fueled by the heartaches, hard-won lessons, and high-speed thrills of a life largely logged on the road. Singing with a booming voice that could cut through the chaos of a packed dancehall, Watson runs the show like a roots-rock ringleader. He salutes his vices on the galloping "Willie Waylon and Whiskey," reflects upon a lifetime of loss with the gorgeous ballad "If You Really Loved Me (Outlive Me)," and gets wistfully reflective on "Life is Like a Song." Entirely written and produced by Watson, Unwanted is the sound of an Ameripolitan diehard with plenty of life left in the tank, speeding toward a horizon of his own making.

If the heart of American music beats loudest where tradition and innovation intersect, then Dale Watson's albums are the lifeblood of a sound that never dies.

Join us on our patio for an incredible evening of live music as we celebrate Sunken Man's new album release! Michael Rawls grew up between Suffolk and Norfolk, Virginia. Small-town stillness on one side, city noise on the other. His father raised him on the Beatles, Springsteen, and Dylan. On his own, he found Modest Mouse, Wilco, Van Morrison, John Prine, and Randy Newman, and never fully recovered. He built a full life, financial advisor, business owner, family and the songs kept showing up anyway. Then a marriage ended, and in the quiet of a house where a child was sleeping, he started writing in earnest. Songs about heartbreak and rebuilding. About loving someone new while still carrying what came before. He took them to Matthew E. White at Spacebomb Studio in Richmond. White produced the album; Alan Parker whose credits include Bon Iver and Lucy Dacus played every instrument himself. The record was mixed by three-time Grammy winner Alex De Jong and mastered by TW Walsh. The result is nine songs that sit somewhere between Springsteen's emotional directness and Wilco's melodic intelligence. Heartbreak, yes… but also hope. The kind you have to earn. He's still a financial advisor. Still lives in Richmond. The music grew in the margins, the way the best things do.

“We believe in some pretty strict rules,” says Pink Stones frontman Hunter Pinkston. “We also believe in breaking them. This band was built on reimagining tradition, on honoring the old ways while pushing them someplace new.”

On their intoxicating new album, Thank the Lord...it’s The Pink Stones, Pinkston and his bandmates do precisely that, offering up a joyful, adventurous take on ’60s twang that blurs the lines between cosmic country, folk, bluegrass, soul, and psychedelic rock. Recorded once again with co-producer/engineer Henry Barbe (Drive-By Truckers, Deerhunter) in the band’s hometown of Athens, GA, the collection showcases a more deliberate, mature side of The Pink Stones’ sound, one that reflects all the personal and sonic growth that’s defined the last few years for the hard touring five-piece. The songs on Thank the Lord... are humble and timeless, full of wry, sardonic wit and rich, evocative storytelling, and the performances are easygoing and amiable, with an effortlessly natural feel that belies the masterful craftsmanship behind them. The result is a record that wears its influences proudly on its sleeve, even as it a subverts expectation, a work of poignant longing and playful humor that tips its cap to everyone from Merle Haggard and Earl Scruggs to Don Williams and The Byrds as it looks both forwards and backwards all at once.

Kind Hearted Strangers is an evolving cast of musicians led by singer/songwriter Marc Townes. Tracing its origins to the foothills of Colorado, 2025 found the band creating and touring out of Nashville, TN. As the name implies, the project acts as the primary vessel for Townes' artistic endeavors, as he has been joined by a variety of musicians for each album cycle. With a foundation built on well crafted songs, KHS has evolved into a dynamic live band capable of bridging the gap between all out rock 'n' roll and harmony-driven acoustic roots.

Joining them on stage is James River Junction--an independent band from Virginia with a sound shaped by Southern Rock, country, and Americana influences. Also joining them is local neighborhood guitar hero, Jordan Rein.
